Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Network Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our client's dynamic team in New York City. You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing their large-scale network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and implement network solutions aligned with business objectives and evolving needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Stay abreast of the latest network technologies and trends, advocating for their integration when beneficial.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network integration and operation.
  • Document network configurations and processes for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of network security best practices.

What You Bring:

  • 15+ years of experience within Financial Services, Technology, or Systems Integration, with a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale networks.
  • Expert-level knowledge of network technologies:
    • Ethernet: STP, 802.1Q, VPC, Multilayer Switching; Leaf-Spine IP Fabric
    • IP Routing: RIP, OSPF, BGP, MPBGP, TCP/IP
    • Multicast routing: PIM, IGMP, MSDP, VxLAN
    • Virtual environment (VDI) experience
    • Platform knowledge: Cisco Switching & Routing (Nexus 9000), Arista Switching
    • Network OS familiarity: Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NXOS, IOS-XR; Arista EOS
    • Network hardware, virtualization, and routing administration across multiple environments.
  • Strong understanding of security concepts and multi-tier security architectures.
  • Proficient in JIRA, Kanban methodology, and Microsoft Office Suite (Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • UNIX/Linux proficiency preferred.
  • CCIE certification or equivalent highly desirable.
  • Scripting/automation experience with Python/Ansible a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, Infoblox, HPNA, Splunk, Sevone, Ansible.
  • Working knowledge of VDI, SDN, SDWAN, DMVPN, public cloud, Kubernetes, storage over IP, and VMWare.
  • Strong sense of security concepts like defense in depth, zero trust networking, and least privilege principle.
  • Experience driving enterprise-level initiatives and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
